Time for the Shy Scribbler to stick her head above the parapet again.

“Love Your Local Market” Fortnight runs from 23rd June to July 8th this year.  It’s a Mary Portas idea, in association with town councils, to get us all exploring our local markets, shopping locally and supporting small traders.  All of these are good things in my book.

As part of “Love Your Local Market”, Swansea dark fantasy author Fran Jacobs and I have taken a stall on Corn Street, Bristol on Thursday June 28th, to promote our books, BristolCon, and local writing in general.  We’re hoping to persuade a couple of other authors to come along too and make a day of it with readings and signings.

The stall will run from 10am to 5pm, and we’re crossing our fingers for sunshine.  It would be wonderful if you could pop along and say hello to us if you’re in the area, and maybe browse the other fantastic stalls the area has to offer.  The street marker usually has stalls from local crafters and farmers, and the covered market inside St Nicks sells clothes, jewellery, t-shirts, books, records etc, as well as housing a couple of nice cafes and a rather fab Moroccan restaurant.  Plenty to do if you’re in the area!

Not sure where on the street we will be, more news as I get it!
