On Friday my friend Dolly and I were discussing what makes a good hero.
This man : –
was a true hero, in the best sense of the word. Breathtaking courage, grace under pressure, and a humility that, considering what he had achieved, was quite staggering. Nowadays we chuck around the words “hero” and “legend” too lightly. Any sports star can be a hero, any movie star a legend. Neil Armstrong was, genuinely, both.
His “one small step” left footprints on the moon that will still be there long after everyone reading this blog has gone. Think about them when you look up, and remember what he did. Those footprints are Neil Armstrong’s incredible legacy.
Rest in Peace, Neil Armstrong. Thank you for showing us the moon.
