That’s AT LEAST 150 copies, Sammy at KI has only counted Kindle copies sold through Amazon and the 50 paperbacks sold by Forbidden Planet in Bristol so far, so the real total could be higher.
It’s very exciting, why you write a book you don’t know if anyone beyond your close friends and immediate family will show even a smidgen of interest, so to see strangers reading it and leaving (mostly) favourable reviews is thrilling and a little bit scary! (and before you ask, no, I don’t have 150 close friends or family, and I’m not aware that anyone was bribed…)
And hopefully reviews will generate sales which will generate reviews and the whole thing will keep rolling along nicely.
Don’t forget that if you’d like a copy, there’s 50% off on Smashwords until the end of the month, just use the code SSW50 at checkout to claim your bargain!
HUGE congrats honey!! You must be thrilled. Now, serious bit here – My advice sweetie, is once you pass 300 paperbacks sold, then apply to join ‘The Society of Authors’ (for authors with POD small publishing houses or self-published authors you need to have sold 300+ paperback copies to qualify for full membership). I joined last month, wish I’d done it ages ago. Really really invaluable advice and prestigious to join. They can help with contracts, copyright, basically anything to do with authors needs. It’s the closest authors have to a real union, someone protecting you and your rights. PD James was the President and has just been replaced by Philip Pullman. Check them out, and HUGE congratulations again, that’s brilliant you’re speeding along! π
Thank you, I’m chuffed to bits! I’ve looking into the SoA before, and I will definitely check them out again, thanks for reminding me!
