This time next week I’ll be launching “The Art of Forgetting : Nomad” in Forbidden Planet on The Triangle, Clifton, Bristol. The books are already in store waiting to be signed and purchased, and all they need is YOU! (and me, and neither fire nor torrential downpour nor the machinations of FirstBus will make me late this time). The weather has promised to behave itself, though I can’t say the same for the traffic, and there will be flapjacks and some other variety of cake. Come on down, it will be lovely to see you and the fun kicks off at 1pm on SATURDAY MAY 24th.
Before that there are a couple of other bits and bobs going on. The BristolCon Fringe takes place this coming Monday (the 19th) and features CAVAN SCOTT and JUSTIN NEWLAND.
Justin lies in Somerset and writes historical and supernatural speculative fiction, which he frequently reads at events in Bristol. He has had a story published in the Hidden Bristol anthology, and he was a panelist at last year’s BristolCon.
Cavan has written a whole bunch of series fiction, including Doctor Who, Blake ‘s 7, Highlander and The Tomorrow People. He’s currently writing for the Beano, which he says has given him previously unheard-of levels of playground credibility.
As usual we will be at the Shakespeare Tavern from 7:00ish, with the readings due to start at 7:30pm. This is a free event, and everyone is welcome!
Then on Wednesday I will be appearing on the Women’s Outlook show on Ujiima Radio, hosted by the lovely Cheryl Morgan, where she will be interrogating me gently about “Nomad”. Which brings us neatly back to Saturday…
If you want to listen to the Ujiima show you can find it on 98FM or online here :
And I have no doubt there will be the facility to listen again in the following week.
So, if I don’t see you Monday, I might see you Saturday!
